A growler is a half gallon- that is 64 ounces! - glass jug used to transport draft beer in America. They are generally made of glass and have a tin or plastic screw-on cap or a hinged porcelain gasket cap which can provide freshness for a few days before losing carbonation.
The original "pail" ale: The folklore behind the growler is that many years ago fathers used to have their children carry their pail to the brewery to be filled. If the children sloshed the beer over the sides of the pail their fathers would "growl" at them!
Growlers can be reused indefinitely and we have them for you!
